The pocket tool for field quoting
Android live. iOS coming.
You're standing there. Customer wants a number. Your truck's full of parts, your head's full of last week's invoices, and the price you quote in the next thirty seconds is the one you're going to honor for six hours of work tomorrow.
Quote too high, they call the next guy. Quote too low, you're eating the mistake all week. Write it on a scratch pad and half the time you forget what margin you used by the time you get to the invoice.
You've been doing this in your head for years, and you're good at it. But the customer wants to see the breakdown. They want a document, not a guess. And you want to be the guy who hands them something clean, not the guy fumbling in the truck for a clipboard.
How long is the job. That's it. Your rates are already set from the first time you opened the app. No dropdown. No "which labor type." No picker.
Tap, type the cost. Tap again, type the next one. Your margin's already applied. The total updates as you go. Reorder or remove with one swipe.
Flip the phone around. Presenter mode shows the number big, clean, defensible. Subtotal, tax, total. Done in front of them. No loading screen. No ads. Just the number.
One button. Their email, your phone's share sheet, sent from your inbox. No login for them. No cloud service you pay for. No data trail you don't control.
Dead Hand Calculator is a single-purpose tool. Quote fast, quote right, send clean. It will never become an invoicing engine, a scheduling app, or a customer database. If you need those, we make a different product.
I built this because I'm the guy standing in the kitchen. Years in the trades, quoting in my head, losing jobs to guys who wrote better estimates faster.
I don't need a CRM. I already know who my customers are. I need to look competent in front of the one standing across the counter. I need the number to be right the first time. And I need to send something that looks like I take my own work seriously, because I do.
Every feature I built, I built because I wanted it on a job. Every feature I didn't build, I didn't build because it'd slow me down. If it doesn't help me quote in under a minute, it's not in the app.

This is a calculator. It will always be a calculator. If you want a CRM, we make one of those too. Different product.
